    Hi PriusChat,

This is the first winter with my 2012 Prius, and I've been suspicous of the climate controls. Today, my passenger complained that there was not heat going the to feet. I've always worn insulated shoes/pants so I didn't really notice before.

I jacked up my fan, increased the temperature and changed the aim to the feet/knees only. I then put my hand to where the gas pedal is. I couldn't feel any air flow at the feet. There was still plenty of air coming out of the upper side vents that blows towards your chest. The upper vent got hot, but not the feet.

Does anyone know why there's no/little airflow to the feet? I'm thinking of checking my carbin filter but it is too cold be pulling out parts. I'm now suspicious if my car's air direction function works properly.

I notice the same issue even with the air direction setting for bottom flow only. Not sure if any other settings make a difference, but, my feet do get cold if I'm not wearing heavy shoes or boots.

yup, the flow should switch about 90%. if you have the fan on low and the ice is off, you can hear the damper move when you switch it.

I switched to the foot-only blower option this morning. The feet were toasty warm in no time. The air blowing out was hot & abundant. Only a trickle came out of the other vents.

Something is wrong if yours doesn't do the same.

What temperature do you guys set heater at? I tried setting it to high, and it wasn't any hotter than it was at 24 degrees.

how long was the engine on for? i usually find 75f to be a good place to start, then keep ticking it down after i'm warm. i usually feel comfortable around 67-68 depending on the outside temp.

I'm going to have to experiment a little with this.
I've never got very good air flow to the foot well. But I assumed it was just normal.

Now I'm wondering if I should be expecting more?
I think there is "some change" but it's nowhere near the airflow going to 90% to the foot well area.
