I bought my Prius v mainly for the mpg it provides. Secondly for the looks.

I love the fact that the v can give me an avg of 40mpg, which is loads better than 15mpg on my Honda pilot. Knowing that I can pull 40 mpgs from my car...I wouldn't mind sacrificing a couple of mpgs by improving the apperance or giving the v a little more umph.

For me the v is fast enough...so I decided to install some coilovers. Improved the appearance (IMHO) and greatly improved the handling.

    WRXman,
    >I like your throttle body grounding and I'll do it on my v.

    >See my mods post for photos of my INJEN CAI. I wrapped it with hi temp exhaust tape & painted it with hi temp paint to keep out ambient engine heat. I also added an INJEN heat shield lined with Dynamat. It cuts heat from radiator when moving slowly and also cuts induction noise by about 1/3.
INJEN has a patented MAF attachment area which will NOT light up an engine code. It has passed dealer inspection as not voiding the warranty and Nevada smog inspections. Both said, "No check engine light, no problem."
My CAI gives me a bit more mid to top end power that I can actually feel.

My steering column-mounted SCAN GAUGE II shows an average drop of 10 F. in summer with the CAI, compared to the OEM intake. More drop in the other three seasons.

    >If you drop the car W/O changing shocks it will be "bouncy" over smaller bumps B/C the shocks are inadequate to dampen the stiffer, shorter springs. I'll change out my shocks for firmer adjustable ones at 50,000 miles.

OK, I grounded my throttle body yesterday with 12 ga. wire. Haven't noticed much difference in the PWR mode but it felt more responsive in ECON mode.
Interesting that you got more response in PWR but I only took it on a 1/2 mile test drive. Maybe I'll see PWR have more response on the highway at higher speeds.

UPDATE: It does seem that I get a more responsive throttle now that I've grounded the throttle body. And it seems to be true in ECON, PWR and "standard" mode (ECON or PWR off).

Certainly I get much better throttle response than in my former 2007 V6 RAV 4! That car had a real issue with response. Step on the throttle ("...2, 3, AH! response at last!) Yeah the V6 RAV 4 was fast - once it got going.

BOTTOM LINE: I highly recommend the throttle body ground wire. This is what I love about this forum, good ideas that work.
