Sure won't HELP it. Breaker bars are cheap.

Yep. As tight as the things get after being in service (even when torqued "on" correctly), use a breaker bar to bust it loose initially. Saves not only your torque wrench, but your ratchets too.

^ Ditto. I've used a torque wrench a few times to loosen a stubborn nut. Set it to a really high value. But always hated myself after. :ROFLMAO:

Then picked up a 3/8" breaker bar. Mine doesn't have ratchet mechanism, just a swivel head, so you can flip the handle 180 deg. About $10 I think.

the seller answered my email. mystery solved.

"We are afraid that a torque wrench may put too much force on this item and may cause a damage, so there is such warning for it.
Also, we raised the price to prevent order because this item is now out of stock."

I think that's the danger. YOUR wrench might do fine, but if someone broke their torque wrench loosening a stuck fastener, some moron would probably try and sue over it.

I believe they're worried about their aluminum filter tool breaking at its square drive hole if used to remove a grossly overtightened filter, NOT about the user's torque wrench breaking.

Maybe by "torque wrench" they're thinking breaker bar?

    I tried 3 things:

    Rubber strap wrench. Didn't work.
Harbor Freight set of 4 oil filter sock-style wrenches. 65 mm slipped off.
Oreilly's Auto parts sells a filter socket "for most toyota & lexus" that fit perfectly. Including a cutout flange that fits the outer lugs perfectly.
