Rob's 2011 JDM Inspired Prius Modellista Build - The MPGstunna

Hey fellow Priuschat members. My name is Rob from Southern California. I've been modding cars on and off, starting with a hand-me-down 4 door legend, and the Silver/Black IS300 below




I picked up my 2011 on June 29th 2013 with 39k miles.




At first I wasn't going to put mods on, but then I found this forum.

It wasn't until about 3 months after I got the car I stumbled across this forum. I was searching google if anyone had ever put Ct200h wheels on a Prius. The image results showed Sean D's and member's others rides. That's when I started lurking the forums. lol

I went on a quest to find some used Ct200h wheels on eBay and found someone selling them unusually cheap. I checked out his other feedback and decided to bid. Turns out he replaced his stockies with some cheapo (imo ugly) aftermarket wheels. I only know this because when I received the wheels they were in the boxes from his new wheels. Well... to each his own. He's happy, I'm happy. They were in pretty damn good condition. Before I had them installed, I purchased some center caps from the local dealership.



I decided then, that I was cool with "just rims & that's it".

I gave my bro my Is300 not too long after and was starting to get the mod itch. I no longer had a project car to work on, so I wanted to see what else people were doing to their hybrids. I found myself finding inspiration here and on some blogs.

When I found out how to order parts from Japan from a post on Steve-o's blog, well... you could see where this is headed lol

 

In September I decided to do a small test run with tenso to order parts from Japan. Got a few things for the interior: Carmate center console tray, Toyota Multi Box, Toyota Cleanbox (not pictured), and Carmate blindspot mirrors.

 

I use both. Tensos fees seem lower but only use if I am purchasing off Amazon Japan. I use buyee for Yahoo Japan auctions. I scored some things off buyee. They both do package consolidation.

 

Wow, good eye you have there! How'd you know they were SSR's?

I'll be putting some Weds Maverick 607d's this Spring.

Shortly after I did my test run with tenso, I placed a bigger order of goodies for me and my cousin from Japan.

JDM visors and stainless rear bumper guard




TRD lowering springs, chrome handles, and oem chrome lower door moldings (Part # PT29A-47120)

The next week some signal mirrors came in from Taiwan. I ordered these off eBay mitaaccessories store.



I didn't want to install these myself, so I reached out to Sean D. He is the man! Does very clean work and overall an awesome dude. I recommend him for installs.




He also installed these LED bumper signal/DRL/Fog lights for me



Before I left, I bought his plug-in tails off him

 

Thanks, man! Mirrors are great, go for it! Spoiler is stock. Could be the angle.

I'm leaning towards getting the liberty walk spoiler.

 

Ah, then it's just the light. Lol
