Maybe other tires get noiser too? I know we had some aging Ecopia EP20 (on our previous Civic). I'd just swapped back to them (from our snows) and REALLY though something was wrong at first, the noise was so loud. You get accustomed to it though.

I replaced my tires with P185/65R-15 Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 SL in June. I found they were very quiet, and nearly instantly gave me the mileage I was getting on my old tires... Thanks for all the information. This thread helps anyone make better decisions.

what did you have to pay? Or did that swap them out for you? Anyway, I'm happy for you! It's strange to think tires can make such a difference in miles per gallon isn't it?!

The mpg will get better as the tyres bed in. Run them at 40/38 psi or a couple of psi higher if you do not mind the firmer ride to get the best mpg.

You will like the gen 3. Or 4 whatever it will be. Very fuel efficient! I like my prius's especially the 2014. Got my first 625 mile tank and it only took 9.5 gal. too fill it. 60% in town and 40% highway. actually it was my last fill up.Hal

I would keep it. It is new yet. I have almost 50,000 miles on my 2006. I like it as well. Not as FE as the gen3 though. It's my wife's car now. Hal

Here's a short Consumer Reports test report on the Michelin Premier A/S, comparing to the Primacy. Just an interesting read. It makes a bit of mention of rolling resistance, maybe token? I'm kinda resigned, it'll likely be these or similar. If I EVER need new tires. What with our usage dropping, and using snow tires for over 4 months yearly, both our snows and (OEM) Michelin Pilots are at 8/32" still, lol.

Tests Reveal the Michelin Premier A/S Tire Doesn’t Give Up Grip as it Wears - Consumer Reports News

BTW, I'd love to get those Energy Saver's but Michelin in their wisdom doesn't make them in 215/45R17. :(

I got Bridgestone Ecopia 422's A few weeks ago... I'm running them at 41psi. My mileage has gone from 44 to 51mpg. I suspect it will improve once they wear in a little bit. Pretty incredible tires.

The newer Premier seems to be the best, Tirerack's test showed a strong performance as well. Nice to see the CU test confirming the wet traction as well. Our aging 2007 Camry hybrid needs some new shoes now. The Yokaham Envigors have about 45,000 miles, and two are no good. The mileage from these tires has been stellar, delivering a consistent 2-3 mpg more than the previous Bridgestone LRR tires. After checking the prices online, we'll be putting four more new Envigors on this 116,000 mile car now, saving about $100 plus a set. I will definitely put these new Michelin Premiers at the top of my list when my Prius needs new tires.
