gas gauge down 4 bars after only 71 miles?!

Agreed on #2. I'll look into #1 for myself.

I travelled 160 miles and was down to 4 bars (did someone call these pips?), and I started freaking out, but I've had mine since April 2014 and have filled up many times.

i just came home from work and filled the tank on the way. so...down to 4 bars and filled up to only 3.5 gallons! crazy bad reading. i'll be monitoring the bars more closely and see if they're "failing". gas pump will not lie: if it stops filling, it stops filling. I just have to log that info. i even tried to continue pumping gas. pump clicked off at 3.5

 

If you're having a hard time filling up all the way try turning the nozzle to the 3 o clock position

 

All the bars are lit, so I think it filled up.

 

Well not necessarily. I've filled up before with 5-6 gallons. But if I'm patient/ or turn the nozzle to 3 o clock, it will let the bladder breathe and fill up all the way nicely. Getting more gallons and more range. Just a suggestion, try if you want.
