Those darn codes

    You can just measure the resistance of the sensor and compare that to estimate temperature of the pipe near the sensor to make sure that sensor is ok. Sensor is at the bottom of the tank so it is easy to get to.

    Sensor is 2Kohm NTC so its resistance is about http://www.sensorshop24.de/export/ebay/Kennlinien/Kennlinie_NTC2K.png Chart is in Celsius.
