Despite changing battery in key fob the car sometimes doesn't recognize my key fob. Dealer wants $99 to diagnose it. What should I do?

Do you keep your fob close to a cellphone? If yes, keep them separate, as much as possible, as electronic devices, especially cellphones, can interfere with the RF signals from the fob.

don't forget, if you lose your key, it's over a grande for a new one.

Price must have really came down for the new key. I just paid $193 for a replacement key fob, $129 and $15 freight for a laser cut key blade and $54 to program it...$391 total at my local dealer.

it's not the first lost key that's over a thousand, it's the second. then you have to buy 2 keys and a new computer. living with one key is tempting fate.

Your right, I missed the part where the OP had lost the second key.
