    Hello gang,

First time poster, long time lurker. I must thank the senior members for all their sage advice on the Prius as it helped me bring a craigslist purchase back to life.

Speaking of the 2006 Prius, I am having a tough time getting some straight answers about mounting a rear view mirror to the windshield. I will attach some pictures for a good reference. I purchased an OEM home link mirror off eBay, did not have any mounting apparatus.

I first went to the dealership to see if they could order just the mounting plate for the mirror, but only got "you will have to buy a new mirror, blah, blah, $$$". At least the parts guy was nice enough to point me in the direction where he thought they might carry the mount.

Next stop, Federal auto parts. No luck with the parts, none of the mounting plates they had would fit properly for the mirror.

I am going to head to the chain auto parts suppliers this week but I thought you folks might have some experience on this.

    SUMMARY:

Used Prius, no rearview mirror, bought one on eBay, no mounting bracket or plate, can't find one at dealership or store, ???, Internet stores are full of nonsense I don't need or won't fit. Need Help.

[IMG]Mirror and mounting point pics. I will check today if it is a Gentex Mirror. I think they might have a specific mount?

    Ok, here is the mirror.

I'm in the exact same position... Only advice I've heard that sounds feasible is to call around to local windshield repair companies and ask if they happen to have a stock prius mirror mounting bracket.

*EDIT* -- Only has to be a toyota mount -- not necessarily prius specific, which will make finding one way easier

I believe any original toyota mount will work, don't narrow to a prius

I would think the mounts are all the same from the past decade. Just have the shop save one from the hundreds of broken windshields they throw out
