WIndshield Airbag Pillar Removal

    Most of us know how much this beige pillar stands out. Well I want to do something about it.

    its fairly easy to pry out...

    but then didnt realize it was being securely held by this black plastic connector.

    Can I cut it off? does it activate the airbag or anything? The plan is to carbon fiber the pillars. And if that fails horribly due to how much contour and curves it has, then I'll just plasti-dip them. Doing the seatbelt pillars as we speak :)

    It's been a while since I had mine off, but I do remember there is one attach fastener you need to rotate 90 degrees to release.

    While doing that might as well access the blue wire so we can start your auto folding mirrors.

    I'm piggy backing his question with mine. How can I take that darn pillar off the base at the instrument panel? I cannot pull it off a while ago and I'm getting ready to do the auto headlight mod by taking the instrument panel off so I would like some pointers.

    Disconnect the Battery. You don't want an OH SH-T moment with the side air bag. Just use the portion of the video you need. If you pull the door seal back/out in the are of the cover it may help.
