    Worth it?

Perfect carfax with all service done at same Toyota dealership. Owner simply traded it in for a newer Prius (good man...).

Car ran well. Battery seemed to be well charged in a test drive, without any strange movements down and up.
I'm looking to get it for ~$7,000.

Any questions I should go back with? It's within budget, and we could afford a new hybrid battery, but would love to avoid it.

My goals for this car is to drive it for a couple years (or more if it capable!), putting away every month. I currently drive a matrix with 220,000 that is getting near the end.

I fell in love with the Prius last year as I had to drive a friend's on a road trip. When started showing me how low maintenance the car was, I was sold.

Anyways, I've been lurking here for a while, and look forward to any opinions. Thanks in advance!

Too much for that many miles, IMO...maybe if it had half the miles or a new HV battery.

Seems to me a fair price would be $1000-1500 less.

    Shop around some more.

There's a 2008 in Delaware with 172290 miles for $6888. There's one in NJ with 168388 miles for $6995 and one with 122480 miles for $7700. Look around truecar.com but I don't believe you'll find anything much cheaper.

    I stand corrected.

I did a local search on Craigslist here in ATL for 2008 owner-sale Prii. There is one at 162k for $6500 and two more less than $7k, but with higher mileage. So you may be in the ballpark with that number. You can do other searches on Craigslist if you want to compare pricing in or near your area.

If you are looking for a car with a steep depreciation curve look at an iMiEV or a LEAF.

    I'd put about 15-20K a year.

I'm looking at some other vehicles, as well. If I can get them to 8K OTD with a trade, I found a 2009 with 91K that is in mint condition. Also, a 2005 with 85K, but it makes me nervous to see a car that old with so few miles on it. I've heard that's actually worse of the battery?

The battery is only about a $1200 item and you might be able to replace it yourself.

The 08 has 30-percent more miles than normal, but I'm thinking that with a little luck and a lot of noodle work that you can get 40-60 thou more out of the car and you should be able to make your goal of driving it for a few more years and banking some money.
Review the service history and if you get the car immediately start monitoring for oil use.
Don't be shocked if it uses a little at 160,000 - just make sure that you monitor the burn rate.

Your car (depending on options) should go for 6-8 thou.
Try to get them down to six (OTD!) and avoid any 'doc' fees or extra add-ons.

    Good Luck!
