Yes LED strip bars are the way to now, untill a new andbetter product is made. I have installed many LED bars and I prefer them over halogen/fog lights.

I ordered my 20" Cree combo beam light bar and a laser switch, hopefully it'll be here after finals and I can have a nice little project after the stress.

how do you plan on mounting it. I want mine behind the grill but finding a suitable mounting point is proving to be kinda difficult being that the radiator is right there and the anti-drag plates are not really stable enough to mount a light bar on.

I'm going to play around with placement I guess to see how everything works together. did you get a single or double lead switch for yours? I ordered a single lead because I used those on my truck but I'm not sure about the power draw.

iwas just going to unplug the broken OEM foglights and use the same power lead to hook up my lightbar
literately plug into one of the fog light plugs the way i figure it the stock foglights draw a heck of a lot more power than those leds do
the bar only pulls 8 amps

The stock foglights draw about 4.5 amps each, so putting an 8 amp draw from your light bar on the wiring from one foglight might be a problem.

I'd put it on a relay, you can use the original foglight wiring harness to trigger the relay, but take the power for the light bar from the fuse box.

So here is the update on the lightbar. I installed the lighted switch and made sure that was functional (light bar will be in tomorrow), being that this rocker switch has an LED in the switch it does stay on even when the car is turned off because it is hooked directly to the jump site at the front of the vehicle. It is a single LED so I cant imagine that it will drain the battery, but am I wrong?

Will it drain it, yes. How long will it take?...quite a while depending on the health of your 12v and long the car is off.

Lets see some pix of the finished install!

So mind you I still am cleaning up the wiring and the light bar won't be attached until tomorrow (when fedex decides to deliver), and it's really sunny in Texas today so the rocker switch isn't as bright. However this is what I have so far

i am going the other way .....lightbar installed but not installed the wiring yet ...
where did you grab the 12v only while the car is on wire from......behind the radio?
I am tapping into the fog light wire through a relay and find a constant 12v and ground under the hood
