    Here is Toyota's description:

"When the available Blind Spot Monitor detects a vehicle, it illuminates a warning indicator on the appropriate sideview mirror to help you know when it’s safe to change lanes. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert works in much the same way. When you slowly back out of a driveway or parking spot, it provides audible and visual indicators to warn you of approaching vehicles."

The warning lights on the mirrors seem to work as advertised for BSM. They also flash for rear traffic alert. You eventually see things on the backup monitor, of course. Also beeps at you. Here's a video:

congrats! well done, all the best with your new hycam.(y)

our 2013 hycam blind spot monitoring system went out in less than a year. we haven't had it repaired yet, because they looked at it and said they would need it for a whole day.

Do you have auto high beams on your 2013? If so, do they work well?

no, i don't recall that being an option, although there was one package higher than others with the large screen, maybe it was on that, don't know. sounds like a nice option if it does work well.
