Cheapest place to buy-replace a smart key these days ?

    Just bought a used 2013 level 4 Prius that only came with only 1 key
    Wheres the cheapest place to get a second key ?

    if you can find a lock smith who will do it, ebay is your best bet.

    I purchased my replacement key fob on ebay for $53 and paid $60 for programming from Pop-a-Lock of West LA, CA.

    I traded my 2010 Prius in for the 2013 I keep one of the keys is it possible to just have that key reprogram to work with the 2013 as a backup key ?

    Didn't you buy the 2010 recently?

    I think you need to reseed the car for the old key to work

    Bought the 2010 almost exactly one year ago came with 2 keys the car only had one previous owner

    Thanks for your help
    I used your Keylessride link and found this below local place that reprogrammed the spare key I kept from my 2010 trade in for just $49.99
    Then i bought a new metal key from them and he cut it for me for $25 total

    thanks for the info. In process of doing this myself. Lost all keys to the car, just got a Used Fob to work still need to program the keyless entry part.

    how did you get a used fob to work if you lost all your keys? it has to duplicate something you have

    I think the can duplicate without your keys directly from the car itself

    Any updates on this since 2015? I lost our one fob to our 2012 Plug-in Advanced and would like to replace it. Any new "best sources"? Also, are both fobs the same? The one I still have is 4-button.
