We want a new reliable and economic sedan and focus on Prius. Autopriceshare dealers give me a $4000 discount off MSRP. The dealer also provide me another deal about 2015 Prius three($4500 off MSRP).
After comparing the difference between two and three, I think the Navigation in Prius three is the most useful option for me. However, a Garmin Navigation may only cost me 100 dollars. Though dealer give me $500 more discount for prius three, it is still a hard choice for me.
Should I pay 1000 more for 2015 prius three? Any suggestions will be helpful, thanks!

I use my phone for Navigation, so what works for me doesn't work for others. However, look at other features included in the Three and see if they all meet your needs. My Prius Two has what I need.

Save your money and buy a 2. A phone or Garmin provide better nav. That said, I love the smart key and on the 2, it only works on the driver door. On the 3, it includes the passenger door and rear hatch as well.

Other than the Nav, Entune, and smart key, there are no other differences.

I bought my Plug In from Thompson's Toyota in Placerville. Right now, they have a silver Prius 2 for $19,900 and a dark blue for $20,000. Crazy low prices right now. With numbers like that, I see little incentive to purchase a Prius C over a Prius hatchback.

If you can afford it, get the Prius 3 with the solar roof. It's not that much more and it's a nice option to brag to your friends about.

If you use navigation a lot or if you would use the entune features,, go for the three especially if you can narrow the difference to $500.

I have heard a lot of people talking about the angle of the Navigation screen, so my suggestion would be: If you have a stand-alone navigation device (TomTom, Garmin, et. al) take it with you and hold it up to where you think you'd have it in its permanent position, sit in a Level 2 Prius…then sit in one that has the on-board Navigation and see if you have any issues viewing the screen, or dealing with glare off of it in its (presumably) immovable position.

Me: I'd opt for the Level 2 with $4000 off MSRP and buy a stand-alone Navigation. (Like ITgem, I use my phone, and since I have an older Gen 3, I plug it into the aux input. I can listen to music from my phone, and when Nav is activated, it just lowers the volume on my music and Siri speaks turn by turn).

(The thing I like about using my cell phone for navigation is the fact that it pretty much updates itself when I do any software updates…so, I don't have to worry about the Toyota navigation software updates…we had a 2006 Sienna with on-board navigation and the stealer-dealers said "It's $300 to update the software")

On the other hand, take a look-see at any other features that the Level 3 has on the 2015. For all intents and purposes, with the amount off MSRP taken into account, and if there are enough extra goo-gahhs on the Level 3 that can justify the $1066 price difference and the $500 extra off MSRP (so in essence, this would make a Level 3 only $566 more than a Level 2…math is not my strong suit, so correct me, politelythankyou, if I am wrong), it might just be worth buying the 3 instead of the 2.

Or, you say "If you put me in a Level 3 for the price of a Level 2, you have a deal, it's only a $566 difference."

I know…"that's no help, go back and sit in your corner!" :)

I think you've done your homework more than adequately in terms of pricing compared to the contents you get.

At this point, it's more of an emotional decision. How much do you value OEM nav integration? Would you be happier standalone unit?

I don't think you can go wrong either way :)

If all you want is the navigation in the 3, you can get the 2 and get a similar function using your bluetooth streaming. I do this on my 2 using my smart phone Google maps. Just set the audio to bluetooth streaming and your phone navigation is broadcast through your car speaks....like having AUDIO navigation in your car. I rarely look at the screen, just pay attention to the turn by turn instructions, so this works well for me and it's free
