No Tire Pressure Monitoring System

    Apparently, I don't have the tire pressure monitoring system installed on my '11 Prius Four, not IV. No set button below/right of steering colum. What's the cost of,
    1) having the dealer install one, or
    2) having an after-market one installed.

    I think that the cost will be $0, because I think that you have one.
    I think that they're required for all POV's in North America and have been since like, 2008.

    I'm a little confused though, since your avatar and your info specify an 07-G2 and your post indicates that you have a G3 (2011.)
    The 2007 might not have a TPMS.


    If in fact your car does not have a TPMS, I believe that you're due an explanation and corrective action from wherever you bought the car.........BUT(!!) I'd make real sure that you don't have one before fussing about it too loudly! :eek:

    I haven't changed my avatar yet. Lol. I will soon.
    Oh. I bought it at a Ford dlr, as is, no warranty. So when I drove it off the lot, it's mine.
    There's no set button, or hole for one. Like it was never there. I'll get with my Toyota dlr next week and see what they say. My '07 had one... Don't know why this appears not to have one.

    Mine has tire pressure sensors, but there is no reset button. I was told that they begin including a reset button the next year.

    This makes no sense. My 2007 had one, but my 2011 doesn't? Maybe just the set switch has to be installed..? The owners manual says the car has one, with instructions on how to set it.

    You've got a button, just hard to find. Not a big rush to find it either, unless you're changing tire pressure. It's WAY under the dash. And:

    Just cus you bought at Ford dealership doesn't negate your remaining Toyota warranty.

    I know :) There's lots of warranty left I found out. I'll look later, with a flashlight! :D And thanks!


    DOH! Never mind, found it. Yea, it IS way under the dash. Thanks guys... Love the car too. Only 22,800 miles on it. Great maint records.
    And while I'm here, what's a good leather cleaner and conditioner? Thanks in advance...

    The TPMS light came on this winter in my new-to-me 2013, and I could not find the reset switch either. The warning went out when I added air, but I do want to find it and reset it to my higher pressures. You've given me confidence that I will eventually find it with a flashlight way under the dash. Thanks.

    I never had to reset my tire pressure. When I get a nail, I just get it fixed and air up the tire. the light goes away automatically.

    I found, the one time our TPMS went off due to tire pressure drop, it takes a while, or some distance, before the light goes out. Two or three kilometres in out case.

    I think he wants the warning to trip at a higher pressure than default, something more consistent with the higher pressure he runs. Thus the desire for the reset to change the warning threshold..

    If you want the alarm to be on more of a "hair trigger" you can intentionally set the tires higher than final pressure, do the tpms reset, and then drop the pressures. Someone here mentioned it takes about 25% pressure drop to trip the warning?

    Actually, I'm in that boat: I set ours when I was running around 38~40 psi (on 215/45R17), I think. I've dropped them to 34 now (door decal says 33/32 for front/rear) and no alarm as yet.

    The button is NOT the same location as in Gen2 !!! really hard to find/see first time

    Our 2011 Prius 3 has TPMS, so I'm pretty sure you do too. ;)
