Does the cruising range in the drive information screen NOT reset unless you fill the gas tank ALL the way up?

I just threw in a few bucks (well it's a Prius after all) and it still showed 0 as the range.

don't know details, but it might take a few gallons to register. how many pips did your gauge go up?

With my experience. You have to fill it at least half

The algorithm in my Liftback requires the DTE display (distance to empty) to drop at least 1 mile per 2 miles driven, even when gliding downhill for 30 miles with almost no fuel burned. And other fuel-sensitive settings (e.g. the out-of-fuel lockout preventing restart attempts until sufficient fuel is added) require 2 to 3 added gallons to reset. The DTE display, and your 'c', likely have a similar requirement.

I have added a single gallon that raised the fuel gauge, but not DTE that was hanging at about 10 miles. At the time, the car was new to me, had not yet been that low, and the spouse was also in the car. But after having played with the bottom reaches of the tank in more benign conditions, I now know that the car could easily have made it the 30-40 miles to home (and cheaper fuel) without risk.

    FROM how many ?
How many gallons added ?? From memory, it takes about 3 but I'm pretty sure that's in the owners manual.

You would think. When I had a Prius Gen111 if I threw in a few gals, it would accurately show the miles I had left to drive.

thanks for the reply, did not know.

It was a flashing bar and I added about 7.00 worth which was about a little over 3 gals

Over 3 gallons is surprising. So maybe it doesn't reset with the same amount that will trigger other items.

yea, its blinking again but I read that it has 1.5g left in it so with my avg 60mpg I guess I can still drive more.

The regular Prius (what do we call them? Liftback?) was very accurate with this so I thought this was the same but apparently not.

well thats true but dam yesterday with all our tornadoes, when I came out of my storm shelter I was saying I know that my Prius C is up a tree ! lol

But luckily the tornado was just north of me, we were ok but the north part of town, well, its been on the news a lot today. :(
Its always like 60-70 cents cheaper here than in NYC, I always ask my Dad what the gas is at.

and wouldnt you know it the moment after I added that gas to the half full line the CHECK ENGINE light is now on and wont go off after screwing with the gas cap a few times.

Off to the dealer tomorrow. Are diagnostics free with car still under warranty?

$2.80? That's discount gas here in Hawaii - Costco, Safeway or military exchange.;)

Filled up today - $3.199 per gallon. Up about 14+ cents since my last fill.:(

    YMMV

Maybe. Depends on what the problem IS.
Sometimes it takes a while for the "gas cap" fault to disappear after the cap is seated.
(You might want to change your "location" in your profile if the move is permanent.)

Ok thanx, heading to dealer this afternoon.
Interesting that the check engine light came on right after I put gas in it.

Permanent here? I'd lose my mind. lol. Wife studies weather, we are here every Spring for research and tornadoes.
