    From the article:

All of sudden you find that you can no longer control all your power windows from your driver's control panel.

    Some symptoms
    1) They work individually but you can't work them from the driver's control panel!
    2) Drivers side can only control up or down movement but not both
    3) Window does not go down with one press but must be held till it reaches top or bottom

But hey, if you're in desperate need of a donut, I wont stop you from going back to the dealer :p

Somebody might owe Toyota an apology, and might be paying full price for a their own Donuts.

ok, problem fixed and no donut for me!

I had to go to the passenger door window and reset that window as it wasn't rolling down on auto. Once that was reset, I regained control on the driver's side buttons.

Well I know how to recreate the problem next time I want a free donut. Thanks to everyone that contributed to solve this mystery. Learned something new everyday!

strange thing, I've changed the battery on my 2010 and this never came up. That's why I didn't know why a new car would have this issue.

Same here. After changing the battery I just had to reset the radio stations. In any case, for a car that was sitting on the lot for a while, and they had to recharge the battery, I would continue to be on the lookout for other weird stuff happening, as they may have just given it a quick boost instead of letting it fully charge up. My 2 cents...

I measured it this morning, it was at 12.8 volts. But I only need this car for 3 years, it should be ok til 2018

Sounds a lot like our 2010, manufactured August '09, purchased November '10. Dusty, dead 12 volt, but only one on the (covered) lot with OEM 17" wheels, LED headlights etcetera. They replaced the 12 volt, no other problems.

It is a negative experience, I shouldn't have to resolve the issue at a forum on a brand new car

The main thing is that the agony is gone and you got the problem solved. I bought a 2014 Avalon Hybrid XLE Touring exactly one year ago. I had some frustrating things I had to figure out with it so I know just exactly how you feel. The best of luck to you with your new car.

There was no agony, I knew it wasn't a major issue but annoyed me a new car would come with this issue.

I was really prepared to bring it into the dealer and get my free donut

Check your spare tire's pressure. Just a hunch.

    Hang on, it's a plug-in, never mind.

Could have been resolved by reading the relevant chapter in the manual.
As for rewording the title, I think you cannot do it yourself, you can ask the moderators to do it.

The idea of a brand new car is everything works properly when you get it. That was my complaint.

Is the auto up/down relearn IN the Owner's Manual. I recall searching for it, for some time. Found something, finally, but can't recall if it was in the manual, or something else: Repair Manual, some forum.
