How do i reset the engine saftey after it tried to start three times and failed and shut down

The problem is that i disconnected the engine fule injection main fuse and tried to start it. It then went into safety mode to protect the car and turned everything off for firing the engine

i think your next move is to get an old laptop, mini vci and tech stream software, if you're gonna continue to diy it.

    1. Make sure that all fuses are good now. Use a multimeter to verify continuity of the fuses as needed, do not rely upon visual inspection.
    2. Disconnect the 12V battery negative terminal cable at the body for a minute or two, to allow the ECUs to power down and clear the DTC. Then reconnect the battery.
    3. If the Prius does not become READY then your car still has an existing problem. Check the fuse that had been replaced to see if it is still good. If it has blown again then you will need to figure out why, which is not a minor activity.
    4. You can buy Mini VCI on Amazon.com if you want to retrieve the DTC. This is the one I happened to buy:

    5. You can obtain the electrical wiring diagram and factory repair manual info at techinfo.toyota.com which will be required if #3 is a problem.
    6. You have posted on the same issue in this string:
Car not running, and need some advice. | Page 2 | PriusChat
The advice provided to you in that string was sound. If you have already tried disconnecting the 12V battery and you still have a problem, then your car still has a current issue. I cannot over-emphasize the requirement to ensure all the fuses are good, as stated in #1 and #3 above. If they are good, then get Mini VCI to see what the DTC are. This requires using a Windows 7 or Windows XP 32 bit OS laptop.
    7. While you are waiting for your Mini VCI to arrive, hook up a 12V battery charger to the 12V battery to make sure the battery is fully-charged and ready to go when you resume your troubleshooting.

    Good luck.

I would take it to Prius service or your dealer before you really screw it up. Hal

mini vci is the cable from the obd II port to the laptop. if you google it, amazon will come up. you need an old dedicated windows 7 laptop and tech stream software.

Long day. Towed the vehicle to earnhardt toyota in mesa. Talked to them about what I did. Walked with the tech around the car. Showed him the trunk and how I disconnected the tweleve volt battery. Asked him about the orange latch on the hybrid battery the tow driver and I talked about. Showed him how I unplugged the batery and..... Did not plug it in right. The car needed the reprogram and a warranty upgrade as well....

That happens a lot with the orange safety disconnect, people forget to do the final slide.
If we had only known you had disconnected the HV battery we could have suggested that as well.
The 12v battery disconnect reboots every computer module in the car.

if you look at the other thread he created, problem solved at toyota by properly sliding the hv safety latch.
