so i heard bubbling noises from my dash... what could it be... last week I had a lot of water on my driver side floor board, so i opened up the mc air filter and changed it and also put a wire hanger in the drain tube located at the bottom behind the floor board carpet... got a lot of gunk out... no wet floor. Now today I am driving and ran my ac, then heard gurgling noises and felt on the floor to see if it was wet, but it wasn't. I recently had to pay an arm and a leg to have the water coolant valve replaced could this possibly be the issue to why it is making this noise? could they have did something wrong? Trying to save myself some money to see what is going on! Thank in advance for your help and advice.

sounds like you should go back to the place the replaced the valve and have them get all the air out of the system.

Turn on the cabin heater to MAX HEAT. Turn the fan to the high speed. Do you hear air bubbling in the heater core?

If yes, the problem is that residual air was left in the engine cooling system by the mechanic who replaced the engine coolant valve. So you can take the car back and ask them to do a better job getting air out of the system.

Or you can DIY. With the car IG-OFF, check the coolant level in the overflow reservoir and the radiator itself, and fill to the top of the radiator neck and to the Full mark in the reservoir using Toyota Super Long Life Coolant. Remove the large black plastic panel over the radiator (six plastic fasteners hold the panel in place) for access to the radiator cap. Use a Philips screwdriver to rotate the fasteners while applying upwards pressure on the panel to force each fastener out of its mating hole.

After you have replenished coolant as needed, replace the radiator cap and the overflow reservoir cap, and make the Prius READY. With the heater on as described above and the gear selector in P, rev up the engine for around 10 minutes or until the bubbling stops. Even with the accelerator pedal floored, the maximum engine RPM is only going to be ~3,000 RPM when the car is sitting there parked in your driveway.

Then turn off the car after the bubbling goes away. Wait for the engine to cool down. Check the coolant levels in the radiator as well as the overflow container and replenish SLLC as needed.

On a daily basis, before the car is first driven that day, check the engine coolant level in the radiator as well as the overflow container and refill with SLLC as needed, until you find the level remains full in both. Then replace the plastic panel over the radiator and declare victory.
