Since 2011 all US Toyota Hybrids have the blue background on the badge. Don't care about Lexus or any other hybrid just talking Toyota.

So now you just care about post 2011 and only toyota. There's many other brands of hybrid out there. I thought you cared about the first responders. Apparently only about being "right"?

Toyota added more, larger, and color keyed hybrid specific trim because smug hybrid owners asked them in focus groups to do so. They wanted to more visibly flaunt their eco mindset/purchase.

Never did I state to care about the first responders. As I've posted before it's not my fault if they are too incompetent to learn and recognize hybrid models.

To hopefully shed some light on this, according to "Toyota First Responder's Guide for the 2012 Prius C" found on the NFPA website (National Fire Protection Association) referencing specifically the C, since this is a C forum: http://www.evsafetytraining.org/~/media/electric%20vehicle/files/pdfs/toyota/toyota%20prius%20c.pdf
Page 2-4 covers PriusC Identification. With those 3 pages it mentions nothing about looking for a blue background on the toyota emblem to identify the car as a hybrid. However it does mention the PriusC and Hybrid Synergy badge on the rear, as well as the hybrid logos on the side. Similarly the gen3 prius identification mentions only the Prius and Hybrid Synergy logos on the hatch with no mention of a blue background on the toyota logo.

Where I found everything if anyone else is interested:
Toyota - Electric Vehicle Safety Training

Hearsay I understand, but for what it's worth to anyone, I got the below from an active EMT buddy. "You can look for the badging if the car is ok, but those things scratch off. If its busted look at the dashboard, the engine compartment or under it to see if it's an electric vehicle."
From that I gather that badging isn't the only way to tell if a car is a hybrid or electric. The badging just makes it easier.

Relative me, all I wanted to do was put carbon fiber on the back of my toyota logo. With the above I don't see much of a reason why I can't.

Wish I could say the same. I used to be a carbon whore, glad I got out of that as I only approve or real carbon and kevlar. Very expensive bits. Let alone wasting the money on interior trim. My goodness how much I've wasted and seen ruined over the years, ha ha. As obviously fake looking as it is whomever dipped it for you is pretty competent!

I honestly wasn't sure. Haha. I don't know anyone that does it. Went through a guy that my brother is friends with through the WRX community. Very cool dude that has his own company and does the hydrodipping.

I'm very pleased with the result. I had some pieces plastidipped blue, and it got too "loud" for me. This is way more subtle but still sporty. The finish feels really nice, too.

I've seen hydro dipped stuff for much more and a few for less so you did pretty good.

I installed the Injen CAI. I know many people have done this already but I figured I'd still post. I really like the power that my C gets from it and the noise starting from half throttle to WOT is cool too. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

The company claims about 7 more horsepower. All I know is that its noticeable and the sound it makes when you are are wide open throttle will get some attention. I'm happy with it. I noticed that with regular driving the MPG has gone up a bit, maybe about 5-7. When I drive it like I stole it it stays the same or maybe about a 1-2 MPG increase. These numbers are with 1 tankful so far. Soon I will be adding a TRD muffler so I can't wait to see the power gains all together
