    'Tis true, humans have survived some very tough times. Not just that ice age (which seems to have allowed the Americas to get humanized), but Toba! Dang!

    Survived by being hunter/gatherers, all survival skills 'in-tribe', and by being few in number.

    This is not who we are at present, nor who we particularly want to be.
