They were at a stop light. The vehicle does not have to be in gear, drive or "Rolling" to belch smoke.

Especially impressive when you consider that the truck had a very poor launch!

12.2 seconds in the standing quarter is pretty fast.
Like....faster than a Camaro SS or a Mustang GT by more than a half second fast.

Priuses only seem to be quick off the line because they get an electrically assisted boost, and it's only good up to about 20mph or so.
    Then?
    It's a Prius.

Rolling coal = crappy mpgs, but these type of drivers don't care, Yet, they turn around and complain about the cost to fill up the tank on the truck - give me a break! OR, they whine when the diesel starts having problems with the injectors, pump(s), transmission problems (due to overworking it). They should just dump their paycheck right into the tank.

My truck, which I use for hauling the camper and towing the M/C trailer is stock, no high HP chip, injectors, aftermarket performance turbos. I drive using common sense - easy on the go petal, knowing I use the torque to move the loads I am moving. It is NOT 0 -60 racing machine nor is it a rolling coal producer. It is a diesel, it has its' place, but it is not a DD like my belove GEN II Prius.

I don't know what's funnier...listening to Prius people beat on truck people...or the other way around.

Trust me, this changes nothing. There are currently laws in the books against:
    • Rolling Coal
    • Using your hands for talking on the phone or texting while driving
    • Drunk driving
    • Sleepy semi drivers
    • Shooting each other
    • Holding up convenience stores
    • Selling/buying/doing drugs
    • Being a crooked politician
I drive Illinois streets every day watch the news most evenings. Having a law in the books doesn't change anything.

Yep, you are right. If a LEO wants to apply the above laws, then they have latitude to do so on a case by case basis. A law requiring "common sense" would never be used in todays' world.

Fair enough. If the cops don't enforce the law, it goes nowhere. Still, if someone would occasionally get nailed for rolling coal, it would be wonderful.
