I'm looking to replace all 3 Toyota logos on my car with one I am designing. It's part of a bigger project I'll be posting later as I get closer to finished.

    Basically...

I've figured out 2 ways to do it and wanted some feedback or ideas.

    Idea #1
I have a buddy with a CNC machine where I can cut them out in aluminum and anodized them. But I think he's only set up for straight cuts and can do any beveling.

    Idea #2
EmblemArt.com. I don't know anything about these guys to know if they're any good or not. Any feedback?

    Any other suggestions are welcome.

I'm also looking to replace the Prius letters on the back, but I found where to get individual letters if nothing else.

Don't know if this helps, but I've seen it done both ways.

    Idea #1
To me, this is the best way to go.... (y) Tell your buddy, with the CNC, to just use a ball endmill to 3D profile your logo. Should be no problem with that machine. Or he could use a radius cutter like these...

Also if these logos are for the outside of your car, you should have them powder coated instead of anodize. Anodize fad quickly in the sun.

    Idea #2
Looks like these guys are using a water jet machine to cut their logos. Nothing wrong with that, love the water jet. Plus it's cheaper then having them EDM. It's just they use flat stock and the radius edge you see is from the polishing only.

I guess it all depends on what your expectations are. And of course, how much money you're willing to spend.... :)

    Idea #3: 3D Printing
I got the rear logo off and realized how it attached normally. It would be nice to be able to 3d print one with the proper clips. If I could get my hands on some that someone has already modeled with clips, I could accomplish my project. Has anyone seen files for this before?

Otherwise, I'm thinking I have to get it scanned, possibly, or find someone who's better with CAD than I am to make the design for the clips.
