I had an oil change and alignment performed last week on my 2010 Toyota prius (160k) at the Toyota dealership. This week I got an explanation mark and a warning to check hybrid system. The car was still drivable and seemed to be acting normally. I checked the codes and they are c1300 and c1311. The following day the car would not ready. All dash lights are illuminated. I checked 12v and it tested fine. Could the dealership have caused it? I asked them about it and they said alignment could not have caused issues such as this. I have ordered a mini vc to do further diagnostics. Assuming the codes are still only c1300 and c1311, which part should I buy first? The previous owner did run it without fender liners so there is some corrosion on fuses. I ordered some slimline fuses. A few months back, it showed check hybrid system for a day and then went away. No issues since. Never check error codes that time. That issue occurred after I was cleaning around the fuse box. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

what do those codes point to? the only thing i can think that they did is run the 12v down during the alignment. what spec is 'fine'?

I beleive c1300 points to failed abs ecu, which I can supposedly purchase cheap, install with difficulty by myself, and then pay Toyota for required programming. Am I right on this?

I believe c1311 points to abs relay. Is this one of the relays that I should consider fixing?
TOYOTA LEXUS RELAY DENSO 12V 88263-32070 ABS TRACTION CONTROL SKID CONTROL

Could 1311 be fixed simply, and also be causing 1300? I am hoping to avoid needing to mess with the ecu.

How likely is it that these error codes are caused by the harness as opposed to a fuse/ecu?

Hopefully I will get better Info when my minivc arrives.

Those are the exact kinds of questions you should be asking. (y) To find what the answers are in your particular case, take the codes you've got and use them to flip to the corresponding workup sections in your diagnostics manual on techinfo.toyota.com. There you'll find systematic steps you can follow to pin down exactly what is causing the codes you are getting, and then what to do about it.

You definitely should identify and test the ABS main relay and inspect the surrounding wiring to see if there are any problems. Also find and check the ABS MAIN 1 and ABS MAIN 2 fuses.

It clearly would be much easier and simpler to replace the relay than to replace the brake actuator assembly (which includes the skid control ECU).

As Chap pointed out, you can find detailed repair info at techinfo.toyota.com

A few developments: The car now readies because I had inadvertently failed to properly relatch the Orange plug for the big battery.

I still have the warning light that says check hybrid system. I would assume the codes are still c1300 and c1311, but will make sure once my cable arrives. Is it okay to drive? Is it a good sign that the car is still driveable and acting normal other than the lights on the dash and the error codes?

Also, Disconnecting the 12v for an extended period did not clear these codes. Is that because disconnecting the12v does not clear these types of codes and I need to use my cable to clear? Or is it because the car is sensing the issue anew on every start?

The brake system is impaired if those DTC are still present, so if you drive the car you need to be aware the braking system may behave unpredictably in an emergency stop.

The skid control ECU DTC usually will not clear when 12V power is removed.
