Can you wire OEM mic into Pioneer head unit?

I'm installing the AVIC-7100NEX which comes with it's own microphone. But I want everything else as stock as poss. Don't really want a stick on microphone somewhere when there's a perfectly good one built into the roof.

Is it possible to just splice the wires from the OEM mic into the Pioneer mic's cable?

    Thanks!

Congrats with your Pioneer and Carplay.
Our car did not have hands free bluetooth installed. After replacing the stock Cd/radio with an Android unit, we got the hands free option. This worked well except the soundquality from the supplied mic was crap no matter where we positioned it. I blieve this was a dynamic mic. Two part wire.

To fix this, we bought the Toyota "approved" Blu Logic handsfree system. This worked a lot better! The mic on our Blu Logic device is a condensor mic with a 4 part plug located, as yours, in the roof console.

Your Pioneer is probably much better than our Android after market nav unit was in every aspect (we replaced the Android with an iPad mini) and could have a great handsfree mic. I am not the best with wires, but to use the mic you already have, you need to see if they are the same (dynamic/condenser) and figure out the wires.

The Blu Logic device positions itself physicly below your Pioneer and before your pioneer electricly. The only drawback is it will be outside your nav unit and be controlled by a separate button that fit your switch panel.

Hope you can make it work :)
