Yes, I have been asking for that for some time but I haven't got any links to a reasonably priced device and SW who can be verified by this community... I found a cable some time ago on some dubious site for 10 bucks but not much info about how to use it....

Instead of the VCI cable I bought a ELM327 WIFI adapter who is very convenient(U don't have to sit in the car when doing OBD2-analysis) but the backside is I haven't so far found any useful apps for my iPad who can get any errorcodes out of the system. But the "Check Hybride system" is patiently flashing and none of my two engines are running.
Changed to maintenence mode but the only thing who happened was some noise coming from a component in the fuse box...

    Try DashCommand
It is not a substitute for the (cloned) real thing but at least a couple of the ECUs are read.

And another, though new to me:

    Finally some Progress!
"EngineLink" bring me some detailed system-data.It tells me my 2nd hand Hybride battery is working and that i have 32.5 metric liters in my gas tank! But still no faultcodes yet...

EngineLink seems to have a complete list of Toyota PIDs who give you detailed information about the cars various subsystems, ie U can get the current voltage of the 12V and Hybride batteries but U can get even more: Each of the 14 subcells in the HB is continously monitored and displayed and also a PID-parameter monitoring the span between the the strongest and the weakest! That's what satifies an Engineeer ;-)

What about faultcodes, I read in the complete GenII-servicemanual referenced at this site that U need an app who has the ISO 15031-4 protocol implemented. That will, I believe bring me the Hybrid system fault codes and that will make my day...

I use Ipad but I guess it's the same App.
U have to select Toyotas PID-defnitions in the setup-part of the App. U do it by sweeping left to open a new page, keep your finger pressed at the window, that pops up a widget selection menu, then slelect a widget, that gives you a list of PIDs to select for the widget and a menu on the the top. Klicking the Edit button gives U the "Load PIDs" button. Use that to get a list of customPIDs to select from including Toyota.

Failed to run Toyotas PCBased Techstream because of the mandatory* (?) adaptercable and lousy installation procedures on Win7. I believe the adapter I foundfor $30 in a local popularTech store here in Sweden is a Chinese copy of ELM327. The salesman warned me about lousy SW support but there was no alternative at hand. Yes, the SW was lousy. Googling gave me How to Install ELM327 USB Cable on Windows and OBD2 Software | Car OBD Diagnostics, ECU Chip Tuning & Auto Repair Support

They recommend us to install three(3) consecutive drivers to "cover all versions of the adapter including the chinese pirate". That ended with a crazy installation who Win7 finally accepted but not Techstream and I lost $6 for a 24 hour license. I called Toyota in Sweden who after some adapter-soulsearching recommended me to buy a $250-400 replacement from some safe place who I forgot the name of. Any cheaper, working adapter somewhere so I can get my faultcodes??

    * "mandatory" means in this case that Techstream only use the USB-port, not any wireless ports.
A workaround might possibly be some glueSW who connect the wireless version of ELM327 so it will be defined as a USB-connection to the win7-system and therefore be recognized by Techstream. Could be some SW out there who do that?

Trashing my Techstream attempts!!! ( for now)

    Finally:

    ****************************************************
My CODES ARE OUT of the car!!!!
    ****************************************************
And I didt it Myself, phew...

    So here it is:
The sesam code word is CARISTA, an iPad app with "Pro option" using the ELM327 WiFi adapter.!!!

Take care don't buy any ELM327 clone, Carista sells it's own approved device for a similar price on Amazon...

    So here are the codes:

    1) ABS: C1259 > HV System Regenerative malfunction
    and
    2) Hybrid engine P0A0D > High Voltage System Interlock circuit High

    So what does they mean?
Any suggestions Welcome, during the time I'll check up the GENII- Repair manuals.
( I assume the GENII manuals to be fairly equal to the GENIII ones?)

    ;-)

The most likely cause for P0A0D is that the high voltage traction battery interlock switch is not properly installed.

After you pivot the lever 90 degrees, you need to slide the lever to lock it in place. Then that DTC should go away.

Please do not post the same issue on multiple threads:

Problem solved. Hybride Battery replaced. All error codes gone,

The Hybride battery was known to be a problem but I ran it for another month until the car decided is was bad enough to refuse to start at all. I replaced the battery according to the procedure Mendel Laisk gave me some weeks ago.
It didn't help, car still refused to start.
Now I needed the codes badly...
After ten days trying to get the codes out of the vheichle i finally found the iPad-app Carista who gave me the codes if U put Carista in Pro mode = around $20 + a OBD2 WiFi-adapter.
The key code: "Hybrid engine P0A0D > High Voltage System Interlock circuit High" suggests (after reading some GenII manuals) that an integrated safety network is disabling the High Voltage system. I removed the sensor connector attached to the Orange Thing and measured the pins following the manual.
So I was very close but--->
Patrick solved my problem by telling me what PA0D0 usually means: U haven't reinstalled the Orange Thing correctly!
I followed his instructions and the car started after ten days!

Thanks for all your help Guys !

    / Roger
