    What do you mean "maybe hybrid" RAV4? It's was announced that it's coming for 2016, and no it will not be a PHV.

    Scion is got reviewed recently and it looks rather good. The only difference btw iA and Mazda2 sedan are soft plastics grill and bumper cover.

    here's what the article says;
    so ... is that a commitment to a rav4 hybrid? maybe they will, or maybe not?
    and that was my point - that even as this news feed (rather than Toyota) says 'reportedly' they might do one thing or not .... other manufacturers are actually putting out their product in the here and now.

    Oops
    . . . That's what happens when you read the OP's link - rather than another one down the line. Good!

    RAV4 diesel all around Europe for a while.
    My brother owns one, had to change clutch at 45k, very expensive to work in (4wd). He's trading in for a lease Renault Espace, cause of room, although he said to me he will not miss much the Rav4. Hybrid Rav4 should arrive later this 2015, uh oh.

    I don't mind the X-grill if the interior area is broken up with different textures, like that Mitsubishi and some Toyotas.
    It's bad when that space is just a huge monotony of black plastic honey comb grill.

    Yep that was my speculation, with also the possibility of the mazda skyactiv diesel only for japan. the rumor is this is based on mazda cx-3 which should lower cost to toyota.

    I would assume 1.8L hsd would less than 500,000 yen more than 1.2 turbo di, that is too high of a hybrid premium.

    That is too large of a premium especially considering that the Vezel starts in the low 2M (I think the article quoted 2.08?) Of course I don't know what the equipment level is like on the base Vezel but it's basically similar to pricing this the same as a base RAV4 or CR-V when the HR-V starts thousands less.

    No hybrid badge, so maybe it is going to be under Rav4 with reg. gas, hybrid and even diesel versions in some markets.

    The article did mention the 1.2 litre 8NR-FTS engine.

    That is quite a bit.

    The price difference has shrunk for sedans like the Camry Hybrid and Avalon Hybrid. They're still charging a lot more for the SUV hybrids (SUVs are money makers after all). The Camry and Avalon are around $3,000-$5,000 difference (not necessarily in absolute dollars since clever accounting allows them to make hybrids the same price as gasoline versions with some removal of equipment. Case in point the Camry XLE Hybrid vs. Camry XLE V6 in Canada are the same price). The SUVs are $6,000-$8,500 more (Highlander, NX, RX).

    For the petrol version with manual transmission. But the HSD has an automatic one, and the difference if you compare the HSD with the 1.2T with CVT is just GBP350, an the HSD at the same trim level has the keyless start which is an optional to pay for on the petrol one.
