I have a 2006 Prius with about 128000 miles , I got the car with about 112000 miles. I've been doing some preventive maintance on the car and one subject I have been thinking about is the engine coolant . After looking around on the internet , there is a real good video on youtube on how to do it if you have the patience , I feel like I can handle this job on my own and save the money a dealer would charge you. I just wanted to see how many of you guys have performed this and if you have any tips on the procedure.
A question I have is when a dealer replace the HV battery , what coolant do they change , the engine or invertor coolant ? They did change out the HV battery @ about 68000 miles according to Toyota owners port . PS both coolant still look pink , thanks for any replies .

i don't think they change any coolant when they replace the battery, but certainly, the inverter coolant is more related.

The battery has no contact with the engine or inverter coolant. Could you be thinking of the inverter pump recall that should have been performed on your car? I believe the inverter coolant is supposed to be changed after the pump is replaced, but some people have said the dealer just topped off to replace what was lost in the repair.

    Right.

Regarding engine coolant exchange, did you read the threads here on PriusChat ?
In particular the DIY thread authored by Patrick Wong ?
