Low battery warning light on key (off dashboard).

    If I can buy 5 online for what one costs in a store I'm still ahead even if some go dead before I have a chance to use them. I don't know what the shelf life is but they last for years.

    This the inside of my key fob. I don't know how many different types there are, but you'd have to be absolutely blind to see this and conclude that it doesn't have a battery. :(

    I didn't know about the key fob trick. I tried and it works. Also when I replaced my batteries I found my back up key was already dead.

    While I haven't specifically had to get a fob battery for my PiP (but I will soon, since a "low battery" message is regularly showing on the MDS), I have always just bought them at the grocery store. May not have been the cheapest, but it was the quickest.
