    Now;
ABS, Traction, Brake (red & yellow) bulbs in.
    ABS not working
    Reduced brake efficiency
    Heated brake disks
Regeneration charge indication doesn't go to left side much. But slightly charges battery.
ABS fuses ok in engine room
No vacuum sound in brake pedal
But faster brake actuator sound (every 5sec stop 2sec sound) on stopped ready mode in P. Engine not running.

    Bit history;
I had brake light fuse blown. But not knowing was pressing brake pedal hard to start / goto ready mode as display said.
So after replacing fuse, had the traction bulb on. After it was reset. Everything was fine. Apart from increased vacuum sound in brake pedal.

But now not safe due to brake issue. What should I do...

Bicso : In Sri Lanka Toyota has captured nearly 70% of market share. That's why Toyota itself operate. With few service dealers.
Due to their leadership you can not expect best service as demand is very high

When I called Toyota a Senior Forman asked me to open-close 5 doors and lock-unlock with remote 3 times. So I did few times which didn't work.

I checked all fuses seems fine. Started with & without abs related fuses in some combinations. Then bulb in parking switch start to blink.

Then removed 12v battery & started in a while. Didn't work.

Then removed 12v battery while on ready (engine off). And fixed in a while. That fixed everything. Now all display bulbs gone. ABS is also working.

Seems now no more brake dragging. But can be too early to comment.

I'll be in Peoria, Illinois next entire week. Car will rest at home in Colombo.

I suggest you buy Mini VCI so that you can obtain the DTC logged by your car. If there are no vendors that will ship to your home country maybe you can have it shipped to your US address if you pay for expedited delivery. Look on amazon.com for US suppliers.

    I really suspect Bisco.
I got the car about one year ago. I did checked with Toyota for previous issues. But there were none. But now I suspect their statement. That's one reason why i have no trust for them by now.

Do you think vacuum sound at brake pedal press is normal. I hear it all over at traffic lights stops.

No. You should hear the brake actuator pump (an electrical motor drives the pump) run from time to time when you repeatedly depress the brake pedal. No engine vacuum is involved with the braking system.

Is there any store in Chicago you can recommend. Thanks for reminding me

No, I am not aware of any retail stores. Only web vendors via amazon.com

It's good that you will be returning to the US a few times because once you figure out what is wrong with your car, you can order parts from a US dealer and have them shipped to your US address. That probably will be much cheaper than purchasing them at your Sri Lanka location.

Pretty sure thats not actuator sound. That comes only when brake is pressed. Seems to be coming from pedal area. That's really like a brake vacuum sound in big vehicles, in minor scale

Hi Patrick, I bought it; bt still on the way from Singapore.

I reset my dash lights when it came up with paper clip on pin 4 & 13.
Soon after reset; brakes, regen in rpm bar & mpg seems fine.
But bulbs keeps coming back in few hours. Today I did a reset while in traffic. Then it seems fine. But it will come back soon.
    Checked 12v battery
    12.59 off.
    12.46 acc
    12.05 on
    14.15 ready without engine
    14.23 ready with engine

After seeing Mendels recent post about brake fluid, few mins ago topped it up.

    mini VCI says

"Lost communication with the brake system control module" in all below modules.
    > Hybrid Control
    > EMPS
    > Combination meter

    pls see the attached.

Problem is, ABS, Brake, yellow exclamation with circle and traction bulbs are on. and its apparent ABS not working and regeneration bar not going very far. but fair MPG.
when reset with short circuit obd pins 4 & 13 and brake 8 times. everything is fine. but lights come back on in about 45 mins of driving.

    1. DTC U0129 means a communications problem between the hybrid vehicle ECU and the skid control ECU. You can obtain info about how to verify the wiring harness between the two ECUs from the Toyota techinfo website.

    2. Here is the Toyota Europe techinfo website:

    3. Looks like your tire pressure is low, you could easily increase the tire pressure 10 psi.
