My 2007 is throwing a CEL code for the radio head unit. The code indicates the CD player is having problems ejecting the CD (there is no CD in the player)

The issue is not affecting the car or engine or MPG. The issue is that I cannot renew my registration without an inspection. I wil not pass the inspection with a CEL light on - regardles the reason

I have reset the code by disconnecting the battery. Is there any way to kill the radio or the code so I can register the car.

I can post codes if needed

I have done that. The code seems to indicate there is a transmission error or connection issue between the head unit and one of the computers. I will be pulling the dash apart to re-seat all connections today.

I am interested in a way to remove a fuse or otherwise lose the radio for a few days and see if the CEL clears. The MFD has a code clear option but I do not get a response when pressing the button.

    SOLVED:

First off - The CEL was no longer throwing codes after a reset with the fuse out and back in after putting the ground back onto the car. This is good news. The cause was a little harder to figure. The CEL came back on for a few miles after being off for a few miles, then went off now for 4 days and 300miles.

    CODE did not equal CAUSE-
The code stated that the CD player was not able to ject the CD. There was no CD and with multiple resets the the head unit did not make a difference.

    CAUSE-
The wiring harness tot he back of the CD player had a lose connection on one of the wires. This loose connection was creating intermittent system issues and in turn throwing codes.

    SOLUTION-
I removed the radio, checked all wires for voltage and circuit. Found a lose wire in the connector tot he CD and repaired it. I noticed that the manual and and papers added come additional weight in the glove box, pulling the glovebox every so slightly open. I removed the weight and manual as well.

The car has been running for a few days and couple of hundred miles with no re-appearance of the CEL
