Depending on what plant it came out of, just 2004 (I'm math challenged) has 231564 possibly affected units

but they recalled all of them, after people died of course

This would only be a Toyota recall if someone were to left their car running (cause they didn't read how to shut it down) in their attached garage and someone dies from it.

A large bin batch does not mean every one will fail within any practical use period.

    JC's reasoning is flawed

So most 2006's are over 9 years old now. I bought my 2006 in Sept_06 so I have a month left.
Hey my 2006 VIN is KB20U67xxxxx does that mean I am out of trouble?

yes Toyota has the "practical use period" thing going. So after 9 years, you're on your own as it's no longer a practical use period.....until someone dies in the impractical period

People die from failed car components every day. That is not a convincing argument.

Just one of thousands of possibilities: a tyre blows after 80k miles, the driver loses control and in an accident dies.

    Call the NHSTA !
    Alert the Media !
    Collect the pitchforks !

Well people died in your scenario and there was a massive recall for Ford Explorers on that tire issue

Read the details of my post and the Firestone story. The differences matter.

Really ? Lie and defraud Toyota because of the possibility of incurring a $125 charge in the future ?

No thanks. I'll keep my self-respect, and the respect of people who know me. You do remind me though to presume Americans are liars unless proven otherwise.
