I followed a video in you tube on how the check the battery, I'm clueless on what is what?! I don't know anything about a hybrid car, this car was given to my husband in exchange for work. i've been reeading a little about the batteries but honestly i don't have any idea on which one is the one that is failing. the car doesn't start unless we jump it, once jumped it starts and I took a pic of the screen after following tye video, it charges a little bit and is dead again after a while. please help!!! i'm scared to go to the dealership and get charged a ton of money! thanks in advance

welcome! how many miles on her? to begin with, you need a new 12 volt starter battery, or yours needs to be charged, then you won't have to jump it.

does it drive? the pic shows the hybrid battery which helps to power the car along with the engine. if you can drive it, the battery in the pic will start to show more charge.

if it starts after you jump start it, it must means you need a new 12v battery. There are 2 batteries in the car. 12v battery is what's used to start the car and the electronics, located in the right rear corner of the car. The HV battery is the big expensive battery, located behind the rear seat.

it has 150,000 and was parked for over 6 months, one thing I noticed last night after we jumped it, the battery goes up a little bit while the car is running, but dies if I stop. i drove it last night for like 10 mins and noticed that, this morning the car doesn't turn on. the starter battery is the "not that expensive" one right?

right. you will either have to invest in a charger, around $50. and then a battery $150. if it doesn't hold the charge, or just buy a battery. you probably need to drive it for a half hour or so for the hybrid battery to charge up. it should come up to about 6 bars.

auto parts stores may carry an exude that fits, and 'the battery store' has a duracell.

chargers are available at walmart, sears, alto parts and amazon.
