Thought I share, WellVisors just came out with Prius C window visors, and they are as close to JDM OEM as you can get for $150.00 less then from Japan. Check out their website!

I am not willing to pay the absurd price weathertech wants for their in channel visors, so I went with the HIC 3m ones

they're holding up very well. Held up against high winds on highways, held up on a 2.5k mile road trip, held up on lots and lots of express car washes, etc...

so 3m shouldn't be a problem if you mount it on a clean surface

For added insurance for those that want it, applying adhesion promoter to the car before mating it with the 3m tape makes an absurdly strong bond.

Anyone making a FLAT deflector/visor for our cars? I love those, or a visor that doesn't cut short of the front and rear window?

I bought the weathertechs front and rear. Fronts fit great, passenger side rear fell out first time I opened the rear window (about a week after install). I'm not impressed at all. I was going very slow so it fell in the car. Guess I'll figure out a way to mount them better than the cheap thin adhesive that came on them.

I have both the front as rear weathertechs as well. I had an issue with the first rear one I installed and it stuck infinitely better once I cleared out the window channel that weathertechs slide into. That way, the adhesive stuck better to the rubber lining inside the channel.

Always do a thorough clean with rubbing alcohol first before installing and you won't have a problem.

Reply from weathertech. Did any of you get clips for the rears?

    Hello Evan,

    Thank you for contacting Weathertech.

When you installed the rear deflectors, did you do so with the necessary clips, two per window? The clips, more so than the tape, are what provide the security. Did you not receive the clips or did they accidentally get tossed out with the box? I would be happy to send you the clips if you would like.

    Best Wishes!

In the meantime, while I wait on clips that were not in the box, I replaced the chintzy tape with carquest mounting tape, cleaned the channels (again, but thank you for the feedback) and remounted them. This is the same thing my father did with his on his xb when there was only chintzy adhesive on the 2 short sides of his.

I don't recall installing the clips on my weathertechs. I checked for them and I don't have them. Based on this thread seems that some of the non-C Prius use them. Mine have been in for several months without issue and my rear windows are frequently down. Good luck hope the clips fix it for you.

Thanks, I figure the new mounting tape will be the solution anyway. My father has had no issues with his since he did the same thing. I just didn't get any clips, or instructions to use them, just leave the windows rolled up for 12 hours, maybe 24, I waited 4 days lol

    Lol! No clips.

    Hi Evan,

I greatly apologize – I misspoke. When I read your email, I read Prius rather than Prius C. The C does not utilize clips, however I would be happy to send you extra adhesive and offer two installation tips. One is that yes, you’ll want to thoroughly clean the channel with rubbing alcohol and let it dry completely, and then two, when you install the deflectors, do so rear to front rather than front to rear. They will seat more tightly in the channel. Following that, just leave your windows up for 12-24 hours and you shouldn’t have any more issues. If you do, however, please let me know and I can either send you a replacement pair or return the deflectors for a refund.

    Best Wishes!
