Hi there- ChinchillaGirl and her faithful sidekick, the electrical engineer here: I believe we used the same holes marked here for the two loose wires: 12 v for power (even though marked 6.5), and ground- no apparent issues with power source, and still working like a charm! EE assures me that there were no additional tricks needed.

I guess I should have been a little clearer

I would like to know where did you tap the red wire (12v) to and where did you tap the black wire (ground) to

To the fuse box? or To the radio wire harness? or To the cigarette lighter?

and what are the colors of the wires you tapped into?

    Thanks again

No problem, HOG rules- with this kit, we did not tap into any wiring. The diagram in Mik's instructions was used to locate those wires from the harness (12v to the left of the pink, and the ground immediately below). I am sorry that I did not document this for the kit- it was enough like Mik's instructions that I didn't see a need. The difference is that the red and black wire are included in the kit as part of the harness. so you don't have to cut or tap anything else.

I hope this helps- I love the result and it is better that my SO's stock camera in his more-expensive Chevy Volt.

I gotta admit, your reply confused me until I went back to Mik1's thread. Reading to many threads will do that to you.

Anyway for anyone else that needs the info and is following this thread here is what ChinChillaGirl is referring to.

ChinChillaGirl - Did you buy the connectors online or locally? I wonder if Radio Shack would have them?

The red wire on my kit is not marked. And since I did not get instructions, I have no idea if it's 12v or 6.5v .
It may be safe to say that yours was 6.5volt - I hope I get lucky like you did.

The instructions from EchoMaster (posted on page 1 from this thread) shows the red wire as 12v.
According to Mik1, terminal 7 (the one next to the pink) was only putting out 5.5 to 6.5 volt.

I'm going to check locally for the pins and try connecting it as you did. Hope to work on it this weekend.

If it doesn't work then I'll find a 12 volt source.

I'm sure someone in the electronic forum would have the wiring diagram from all the connectors of the radio

Glad it is a little clearer now; FYI, we just folded the stripped wires back on themselves to increase the bulk- we didn't want to go get connectors at that point. The instructions we got said 12v (same ones posted here)
but we did it anyway and there have not been any issues.

    Good luck!

Installed the kit all went well. My camera was 12v not 6v.

I tapped 12v and ground from radio. Plug G37.

See pics below - Thanks all for your help

    Hi ChinchillaGirl,

Could you describe in more details how you got the parking lines to show up? I have this EchoMaster factory connect camera system (FC-TOYO) installed by my local Geeksquad on my 2012 Prius Two, and there is no parking lines. I'm wondering whether the technical overlooked something during the installation. The installation guide coming with the camera only says '5. Connect the camera cable to the camera. Program optional parking lines and/or Image Flip. Green Wire (parking lines)', which isn't too helpful, so I don't quite blame the technician if he didn't notice that.

So how exactly should the green wire be connected (or not connected) to give the parking lines? Thanks a lot for your help!

As I recall, on a section of the wiring closer to the camera end of the setup, there as a part where the green and white wires were not continuous, but the red and black were. If you leave the green wires unconnected (the default), then you would get parking lines; if you twist the ends together, they would go away. Same with the white: If you connect the white, then the picture flips to rightside up. The tech may have connected both green and white, thinking that this was the way it should be. My set up in summary has the red and black continuous, the white connected and the green disconnected.
    Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for the tip! I will ask the tech to try it out at some point, but now I'm debating whether the parking lines will make the modification too obvious to void the warranty..

I have a quick question. The connector jpeg that you uploaded does not have a Plug 37. Did you mean a different connector?
    Thanks
