Broke valve stem on tpms

The little stem inside the air valve was probably not tightened properly. You can just put another one in at any tire shop. These probably cost less than a dime a dozen.

If the dealer cannot remove this broken stem, then you would need to buy another tpms sensor. Did the dealer say why they can't just put in another stem?

 

You're kind of talking about two different things here.
Valve stems are VERY replaceable and cheap.

TPMS sensors are also replaceable, but not cheap.

Yes, you can replace the valve stem. But if your TPMS sensor is broken replacing the valve stem won't solve that problem.

 

Get a second opinion at a reputable tire store.
The valve stem likely didn't brake.
I'm guessing that it may have become detached from the TPMS body, and for some sensors you can get a valve kit for about $5 which typically includes the valve and maybe a gasket or a fastener.

I'd be very surprised if a competent tire shop wouldn't be able to get this done for less than what your dealer quoted.
How old are these tires?
If you've replaced them recently, then don't go back to that establishment.

The part you put the tyre pressure gauge on is one piece with the sensor. The part -inside- unscrews. It is the actual valve. So the stem is part of the TPMS sensor and is not repairable. But the valve -insert- is easily replaced.

 

in the pic in your other thread, it is obviously broken and needs to be replaced. or not.
