Featured Hybrid Dashboard Summary: June 2015

If you mean Accord Hybrid has been canceled, that's not quite the case: They are not offering a 2016 Accord Hybrid, but they are bringing production on it back to Japan and will bring it back as a 2017. Question is how much will it cost then?

 

The hybrid Civic has been cancelled.

The hybrid Fit might have done well if Honda had brought it over instead of the Insight2. People may have been more willing to pay the hybrid premium if they also got the Magic Seats.
I think the Civic hybrid would have the system in the current hybrid Fit. Which is still a decent system, but Honda has trashed their hybrid rep here, and it will take time to rebuild.
As for the others, nearly all of them are hybrid versions of an ICE car. In the US their sales make up about 10% of a model's total, and it was so before gas prices have dropped.

 

Civic CNG, gone. Accord_PHEV, gone. Civic_HEV, gone. 17 Civic at 42+ Hwy? New_PHEV. Lower cost and more efficient 17 Accord_HEV?

 

Interesting so see the 1st half 2015 result in Europe, hybrids up 2% in the Toyota total sales share to 22%...

Leaf is getting close to n update adding range to the top trim level.
This in addition to state incentives in GA ending probably had some effect. Georgia, I have heard, is a big state for the Leaf, however I am not sure how much impact that actually had.

Tesla (if that is what you meant by "tess") sales are up year over year. If you are comparing to June, most likely more sales going overseas.

Tesla's july was double last years. It will have a week July and August as it ships overseas and retools the factory, then very stong september and december. Last year they did 6000 between those two months and I expect at least 8000 this year. The worry for tesla fans are not us sales, the model X will take care of those in November and December, but if china sales improve as much as hoped.

...also perhaps a Leaf factor was the end of Washington State incentives, but at the last minute the WA incentive was reinstated for Leaf. Possibly some 2015 WA Leaf customers had pre-bought before July 1 "end" of incentives, which however did not end.
