Hey guys I am currently having a major headache with this battery. When i first checked the battery there was one bad cell so i replaced it and balanced the cells. After putting it in the car the battery seemed to be rapidly charging all the way to the tip top of green then the triangle came on. I read the codes and p3000 came up with sub code 123 and p0a80 pending. So i first thought it was a bad ecu so i changed it and started the car same result. so i thought maybe it was the connectors that hold the terminals and connect into the ecu so i changed it same result. So i decided to pull off the whole end of the battery where the ecu connects and swap the entire thing with one from a different battery same result. I am at a loss with what to try to fix this. Any input is more then appreciated!

you probably need to replace more cells and balance the whole thing with light bulbs and hobby chargers.

All the other cells read above 7.5V and I am using a hybrid automotive LLC grid charger to balance the cells.

I read them individually with a volt meter outside the car

unfortunately, without a load, they can be deceiving.

For the Gen II Prius, Techstream starts the module count from the end opposite the battery ECU. So block 7 is modules 13 & 14 and block 9 is modules 17 & 18. Possibly only one module in each block may be bad, so you could use a halogen headlight bulb with the high and low beams wired together and do a load test on each module to see how they fare.

Thank you so much for the reply. Can you elaborate a little more on the procedure of how to do the load test with the halogen light bulb? Thanks in advance!

If you read this thread starting at post #2, it has a good discussion on load testing.
