The black paint on the rear side & roof is something horrible, painting in body's colour it will make it better...

I like the rear in the drawing even better, but still it looks much better than gen. 3 !
The only thing I don't like is that it seems like they managed to make the blind spot in the rear even bigger as in gen.3 .
Well who knows, maybe they 'lol offer a 360° view option !

Gotta see what is inside before declaring love. I want to see fuel economy, active and passive safety, driver and passenger comfort, road handling, cargo space, and price first :)

Well, from this angle it does look a lot better than the other spy shot that was shown.

But I'm more interested in the plug-in version. I hope they reveal stuff on that one alongside the Gen 4 Prius. It'll be either a Gen 2 Plug-in Prius for me, or the Gen 2 Chevy Volt if the PiP isn't impressive enough, or Toyota won't sell it nationwide again.

Allen, thanks very much for the clear pics, and welcome. Sorry to say, the only one I like is the last one.

I'd love to like this new car, and I'm sure it's gonna catch on, for it's technical spec's, but the look seems a misstep.

That shot of the brake light bar across the entire spoiler has to be photoshopped, right? I see a small 3rd brake light in the center of the spoiler in the "non-lit" shot.

Huge plastic rear bumper. Getting close to a full quarter panel - makes the car a little lighter I suppose. Really ugly bulge with the wraparound tail light - kind of like a Renault Megane. Godawful crease in the rear end - soooooooo Kio Rio. Not as bad as a 1961 Buick Special Skylark, but getting there!

No sir. I don't like it.

I agree with both sentiments. When I saw the first photos, I was ready to forget an upgrade in 2017, but these new photos will get me into the showroom to see for myself. The photos seem to suggest a slightly reduced cargo space, but that won't be a deal breaker if mpg has increased enough and there are other worthwhile refinements, particularly in front seating and console design.

    dat rearward visibility, doe.

taillights might look cool at night.

is that a ship they are on, or a giant cargo plane?

Thanks to @Maxwell61, I found the higher resolution versions of the photos over on Hybrid-Synergy.eu and replaced the low-res ones in the OP with the higher-res ones.

On the silver one: I'd hazard those are utilitarian 15" rims sans plastic wheel covers, per usual. They're spindly and hubs appear to be open.
