I purchased my first prius yesterday (2015 four trim) I just noticed that I never received owners manual book and plan to ask dealer about it.

Could you guys tell me what other things should come with the car? Any other booklets? For example in Honda civic when you disconnect battery it will ask you for a code which you enter to activate radio, is there anything like that in prius as well?

Are there any other items(not necessary books) that I should also receive?

Thanks, does that mean it is normal that manuals weren't included with the car?

No. You should have paper manuals.

My 2010 came with a tire warranty booklet or pamphlet, a warranty booklet, and a nav book. Did you get two fobs? If you got stuck with wheel locks do you have the key? If you paid for mats did you get all 5?

    No radio code.

Look in the glove boxes and in the spare tire area, then bug the dealer.

OK so I went to the dealer and got 644 page owner's manual which also has DVD with quick reference guide. The dealer said that this is all for the car. I did not get any other pamphlets or booklets (for tires, navigation etc) should I pressure him to get rest?

If you have navigation you will want that book.

You can get the tire warranty pamphlet from a Service Writer.

Does your version of the owner's manual have pages describing the warranties applicable in the various states?

Did Toyota discontinue the recommended services booklet that could be stamped when the vehicle was brought in for service?

You shouldn't have to "bug them" for the documentation that Toyota delivered with the car. You still have the customer satisfaction survey to submit. Point that out when you speak with the Sales Manager, not some shmuck on the floor. If you don't get the books slam them on the survey.

Toyota's lawyers believed the books were important enough to include with the car. No reason the dealer shouldn't have given them to you.

My books are just taking up space in the car but if you have a problem wouldn't you want to look in the book to see if it is covered by a warranty?

So since last time I in the mean time sent email to Toyota asking what documents should come with my car. Interestingly I guess they looked me up because they immediately knew which dealer I bought it from even though I did not mention that. They offered me to make consumer relations person from that dealer to contact me within 2 business days, or contact them again. No one called me so I told the Toyota eventually I got a call on second try (last Monday).

The person told me that she will FedEx them to me, but she will do it on Wednesday and I should get it by Thursday. I also asked for emailing me tracking number. Well today is Friday and I didn't get the documents nor tracking number. I just called her back today and left a message with my number.

I don't understand why they are doing this. I mean it is so easy to solve my problem and keep me satisfied.

    Thankfully no.

With our Civic, I affixed the sticker with the code to the inside side panel of the glove box. That system was just nuts: if you google the subject, there was absolutely NOBODY in favour of that code, it was a universal problem for many owners: their radios "bricked" when they disconnected the battery.

Takeda, I don't understand it either. Hold onto the customer satisfaction survey until you are satisfied. Sounds like that dealer deserves a good slamming.
