    $12 each x 2 = $24
Philips 30mm festoon Bright White Interior Vision LED
    also $12 each x 4 = $48
Philips 194 Bright White Interior Vision LED light

will they be brighter than stock?

For interior LEDs, get the iJDMToys kit.

if they were any good don't you think Toyota would sell them for $99 at the dealerships.

You'd think, but aside from probably ensuring Toyota corporate "approves" anything sold as being OEM-compliant (so no voided warranty claims snare the dealership), the total number of Prius "modders" is probably too small a market for enough dealerships to bother.

I agree with the iJDMToys kit. I was just going to get normal LED bulb replacements until I saw @Dylan Doxey's old post with the full LED boards from them. My only nitpicky complaint is that they're sometimes too bright. I had to sit in my car for an extra minute before driving off one night to let my eyes readjust. Felt like I stared right into someones highbeams. Someone else posted a pricier kit that was dimmable, but don't remember the name anymore.

SubCode checkout SuperBrightLEDS.com and Vleds.com. Some Prii owners liked those better than JDM

I really like Diode Dynamics. Their quality is great and they have excellent customer service. Plus a 3 year warranty, I think.

I decided to buy some leds made by a compay called kolite. They look to be decent and they are made in Korea rather than chine, so they should be much better quality. I found them on Amazon.

When I started in RC helicopters I was advised of this :

Buy cheap, buy twice; replace all the stuff the cheap stuff caused to break.

    Good advice in any situation

The problem I have is that I can't buy the kit from JDMToy because it specifically says don't buy if you have the SOS button. I could care less whether I have an SOS button or not since I don't have that service, but my car does have the button. Does anyone have an alternative that works with my car? I want to buy an entire kit all at once, or at least have a piece-by-piece detailed list of the parts to buy. Also, that brightness is a concern. I intend to sleep in my car from time to time, and don't want to be blinded if I open the door.

If you don't buy IJDMTOYS KIT you might be ok with a less brighter kit that fits you Prius...right?..that's what you post sounds like...the only other thing I can mention about my cheap kit is the light performance, to be specific...the dome light is brighter than the map lights, the door lights a very blue...so yeah cheap....im upgrading these lights once they start burning out..its not a priority for me for now...but I do appreciate all the good feedback.

About the end of 2010 (maybe early 2011), in this Modification section is a thread (or threads) about "SuperBrightLEDS.com. It gives the part numbers for the LEDs for the Prius. I think it was Phillips. That's what I bought. However, I have no idea on how bright it is compared to anything else. I just thought it was very satisfactory for me. I'd find it for you, but I have had no luck with the search function.

I have replaced all of my interior lights with LEDs.
You want the 'warm white' ones. If you don't specify that, you will end up with 6000k bluish lights.
The arrays of 5050 leds are plenty bright. I think I used an array of 12 for my center interior light.
I used right angle bulbs for my front rear view mirror lights that have 4 5050 leds.
The door lights were a flat array of 5050 leds.
The trunk light was 8 or 9 5050 leds.
For the flat leds (the visor, the door, and the license plate) you will probably want bulbs that work with AC power, so they will work in either orientation to guarantee they will work with the LEDS facing the useful direction, as opposed to lighting the inside of your door or roof.

All of this is quite cheap on ebay. Be prepaired for slow slipping and getting a few that don't work well.

I have not had any fail; just some that were not as bright as they were advertised to be.
I have probably bought over 20 LEDs - you must be buying real duds.
