My OBD display

    just thought I'd share this with you, in case you were interested. Using a wifi OBD plug and my iPhone mounted on a "Steelie" ball on the dash I have this neat display of ICE rpm, MG1 & 2 rpm, LV battery voltage and ICE coolant temp. IMG_0004.jpg

    Super cool. I never have quite been comfortable with abandoning all concern for my engine's operating parameters.

    It's called "OBD Fusion". It's rather good fun. You need an OBD dongle and a smart phone. My OBD Dongle is wifi but I wish I had gotten a bluetooth LE one so my phone can keep on getting data from the cell network whilst I'm using the app. I might get myself a bluetooth LE one actually... Hmm.... they're not so very expensive...

    Awesome, gonna check that app out. I believe iPhone's bluetooth settings won't let you connect to a bluetooth OBD dongle. At least that's how it was a few years ago, so you might want to look into it before buying one.

    Update: The BLE dongle arrived, I plugged it in and changed the OBD Fusion connection setting to BLE and it worked just like that. Perfect.

    Latest update - includes Traction Battery Temp in top left corner and Hybrid Synergy Drive Current Flow in center of ICE RPM Gauge.

    At looks really nice. Almost makes me buy an iPhone :D
    Just for your info: the MG2 display is more or less useless. It is linked directly with the vehicle speed. So you might as well put the vehicle speed there.

    I have not seen that behavior of MG2. It will often indicate zero at any speed depending on MG1 and ICE RPMs.

    Then the indication is faulty. MG2 is directly linked to the vehicle speed with a factor so that 13.500 RPM from MG2 is 180 km/h.

    The P3 PSD still works as the P2 PSD as displayed on this site: Toyota Prius - Power Split Device except that the RPMs of the MGs are different.
    MG1 will differ based on vehicle speed and ICE speed.

    ... as already discussed in another thread you started recently. Specifically, (58/22)×(55/54)×(77/24)= about 8.615 revolutions of MG2 per revolution of the wheels for the regular third-generation.
