Thanks! I just realized that I got the maintenance done at 2 years instead of the 25,000 miles though, so I should be good until the full 30,000 interval, so my next service will be out of warranty.

I heard that Toyota reps keep track of your service history, and if anything should happen later on like replacing a battery, they'll take it into consideration that you've gone to dealers for work as a sort of customer appreciation. Knock on wood that stuff like that won't happen, but I think I'll still save more by doing my own maintenance or using the local guy next door. $40 oil change!

the Oil Change from the dealership is $55 and the tire rotation is $19.95 so thats not bad and keeps it Toyota certified. The air filters are where they make their money.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep an eye out for the local mailer from Huntington Beach Toyota to see if they'll run promos for service, but this small mechanic literally next door is basically only charging for the cost of oil and no labor. I'd love to help him out and build that relationship, since some of the techs at the dealer really don't have any social awareness outside of the requisite script they're given. I asked them if there was an update to Entune once, and he referred me to an Al & Ed's down the street for an aftermarket headunit, from my Prius C 3 that he just took the mileage off of and neglected to notice that I already got factory nav. Oy!

I called my dealer the other day ( Lone Star Toyota Lewisville ) about the 60K service. quoted me $180. They looked me up in computer and discovered I had life time oil changes and tire rotations. After I got there the service advisor thought he could get me some more discounts and total price was $75. I checked and oil was changed, tires rotated, new bin filter and ice filter. I also have life time car wash's so i'm at dealer about once a week. I sure can't justify doing it myself.

Wow, that's excellent! I've never heard of lifetime maintenance before.
