I have finally decided to spend the cash and get a full set of coilovers, and I like what the KSports have to offer. However, I just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with them or if there is possibly a better option for me. My 2nd Gen is my daily driver, so I would prefer not to sacrifice comfort and I'm not going to "slam" it (the potholes around here are large enough to put a dead body in). Thanks for the input! 61TkPh-AhhL._SL1200_.jpg

Where id you find those coilovers? Can you provide a link? How much are they asking for those coilovers? Megan coilovers are $800-$900 shipped (depending where you order them from) are fully adjustable and come with pillow-ball mounts. If you lookup member Sezy, they installed megan coilovers and love them. Not exactly sure what the difference is between the two brands. Hope that helps.

I haven't used it personally, but a lot of our customers did and comments are great! KSport offers Kontrol coilovers designed with both professional road racing and comfortable street driving in mind – two characteristics that are often mutually exclusive on coilovers. Patented upper mounts allow easy adjustment of camber without the need for spacer kits, and monotube shock design prevents fluid aeration and improves handling under all conditions. Mounts and other coilover pieces are crafted from aircraft grade aluminum for light weight and freedom from corrosion. Make sure you're buying them from reliable place and get the 18-month manufacturer warranty.

A lot of which ones depend on the ride you want...not so much how low they go.

The Megans IMO are too soft - too much of a stock squishy ride feel. I too looked around, looked at the Megan Coilover setup (5kg/4kg ( 280lb/in and 224lb/in )spring rate) as well as the newer brands such as KSport, D2 Racing Sports RS Coilovers and XYZ Racing Super Sport (SS) coilover system - Both around $1000 and 7kg/6kg (392lb/in and 336lb/in spring rates.

I decided to go back to my custom Ground Control setup. The 8.3kg/6.1kg spring rate seemed to be the best for me.

I'm using the Ground Control kit for the Toyota Matrix 8070.01. The front is much stiffer than stock but the handling improvement is worth it than staying with probably closer to 4kg spring rates. As the kit comes standard, the rear kept bottoming out and the front was, IMO, perfect. I have since modified the rear rates and am currently running Front Spring # GC140.64.83 and *upgraded* Rear Spring # GC180.64.61

    Spriing rates:
    Front: 8.3kg/mm or 465lb/in
    Rear: 6.1kg/mm or 342lb/in

Google Calculator helps figure out the kg/mm to lb/in spring rates: Google
