sorry if this has been covered; I cannot imagine that it hasn't, but search didn't reveal it. Beginning yesterday, my touch screen and radio work only part of the time. It started with the radio just going silent for a few seconds at a time. Today, and this seems odd, I can mostly make it fail by starting car with foot on brake. I can mostly make touch screen and radio work normally by starting it with with foot off the brake. I considered fuse, which is unlikely, but... According to manual, touch screen and audio are on same fuse as clock, and clock is working fine. I have appointment with dealer this afternoon, but my dealership sucks big time and I'd love to figure this out without them. Thanks. Dennis

I'm not sure how any of it works but our touch screen quit working properly and couldn't be recalibrated for an offset problem. When the dealer reconnected the bad screen so we could drive it while waiting for a refurb screen to arrive no sound worked at all. No stereo and no navigation voice. When the new screen was installed yesterday everything worked perfectly.

Could there possibly be something inside the touch screen unit that is shorting or possibly a solder crack that is intermittently cutting off your radio? The lack of sound might be related to your touch screen going bad and needing replacement?

I have had the same problem occasionally on my Prius II 2015. When that happened, radio could not play MP3 files from usb stick and the radio went into an infinite on/off loop. The on/off button stopped working and the touch screen failed to respond intermittently. All of these suddenly happened while I was driving on highways. The only way to reset the radio was to get off the highway, stop the car, restart the car and let it sit for a while, ... apparently open and close the car door when the car is on and in park somehow solved the problem, and the radio suddenly worked again! This intermittent radio problems have occurred several times on my Prius II 2015 over the last seven months. So, I will try to get the dealer to replace the radio while it is still under warranty.
