Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Review - FullyCharged

    Unless you are in Colorado, no state/fed incentives will get you $10k. IRS is about $5800 for 12kwh battery. And $1500 for CA as an example. That comes out to be about $7300-ish. That should still plenty of money to hopefully get to Rav4 hybrid price.

    Are you sure you understand the rule? I got 10 grand for my Rav4ev, but how do you add up 10 grand on a Phev... for example, Volt with its large battery can only get 9 grand. The Outlander PHEV has only 12 kwh battery.... Please show me your math calculation. FYI, I did my math. ;). I can show you my calculation if you show me yours. :D

    He's got a point, @hill , I don't see PHEVs on that list. The $7,500 is for BEVs in that fueleconomy.gov website you linked.

    You can have $7500 on a PHEV. The IRS does not care if it is a PHEV or EV. They only care for battery size. Math is $2500 for 1st 5kwh battery size. Add $417 if battery is more than 5kwh. Add $417*(kwh beyond 5kwh). So a Volt is qualified for $7500.

    Just CARB gives only $1500 for PHEV.
