My Prius had a knocking noise so I took it in, it was a broken engine carriage bolt($13), so $700 later it is fixed. Get the car back and now it stutters and shakes. It was not doing this at all before we took it in. Took it back and they say it's a engine misfire and it has nothing to do with what they did. Now it is going to cost me another $700...ugh I just don't understand how it cannot be related to what they have done, they told me that it cost so much the first time because it was a hard fix and had to pull the engine to get to it. Not a good time for this!

welcome! glad you found us. to be of help, we will need more detailed information.

can you post the work order for the carriage bolt? was it done at a toyota dealer? have you owned the car since new? how many miles on her?

can you ask the dealer for the trouble codes that they read for your new problem and post them here?

If it is a misfire, the mechanics had cause it at re-assembly time or it has a loose/broken ignition cable
