    OP here. I need to go to Portland in a couple of weeks. I'm waiting until then to buy the cap, so I do not have to pay Washington State sales tax.;)

    Or about a fistful of duct tape. Think Possum Lodge. :)

    BISCO: or at least until the o/p reports back with the final solution.:)
    +++++++++++

    O.K. I know this was of great concern to all of you. My much delayed trip to Portland, Oregon from Seattle, WA took place last week. For those of you who are unaware, Oregon has no sales tax, so I delayed buying my copper cap until I went to Portland.

    Cap was .69 cents at a True Value hardware store. I saved 9.5 percent since I did not have to pay sales tax as I would have had to if I had purchased in Seattle. Also, I think Oregon has better quality copper...:rolleyes:

    Problem is I don't know where the cap is....I think I put it in the cup holder of the car and forgot to take it out on Wednesday, because when I looked around the house for it today so I could install it, I can't find it.

    That leaves me to believe I left it in the company car....Now, I am almost sure one of my thieving co-workers saw the opportunity to make off with a valuable piece of copper and took the chance and ran. I will have to search the car on Monday, but I am not optimistic.

    At this rate, my 9 percent savings is moot. o_O

    Solution is simple: drive back to Oregon, get another one.
