You know, if we could mandate just having 3 octane levels of Regular, America would not waste all that money buying Premium, Super Supreme

To answer the less moving parts question, check out the data for your AC unit. Only one of a kind built, and it only runs when you turn it on, thus, less moving parts. The water pump is electronic and only runs when the engine runs. There is no fan belt, etc, etc........

yanno, my take on it is the C is closer to the original Prius than the other two models, especially the V.

One of the Prime reasons I got the Gen 2 Prius was it was a tiny car that held me and all my gear. 2010 Prius School Project! | PriusChat

The Prius v again was a small car that held a lot! (If your Prius is a cargo vehicle, rather than a commuter car, the v adds to the tradition, small on the outside, large on the inside)

The Prius c is similar to the Gen 1 in a few aspects:

    • Uses a 1.5 litre engine with a compact NiMH battery. Max output is 98hp on the Gen 1.5 (101hp on the Gen 1 sold in Japan) vs. 99hp on the Prius c
    • It has a tight turning radius like the original Prius
    • It's almost 100kg lighter than the Gen 1
    • 0-60 is about a second faster
    • Wheelbase and width are identical in both cars with the Prius c being shorter in length and height.

It's almost like a modern interpretation of the original Prius.

It's not the size of the Prius that matters, it's how you drive your Prius that makes all the difference! ;)(y)

i ran into some other c owners (at the gas pump of all places! :p) and they were super friendly. i just assumed it would be the same with any model of prius!

plus i thought half the point of a hybrid is to save some money! shouldn't they be applauding the relative frugality of c owners? :p

Where I live, despite any model Prius popularity, it is increasingly a tone of preference, snobbery-wise, to have a car that requires a charging station. A hybrid is becoming the guzzler. But that said, everyone I meet who has a Prius does not differentiate between the different versions (except Prius Plug-in. "I can drive mine without gas" comments). Prius C drivers love their C's and Prius drivers generally love all Prii the same.

Isn't a real Prius?? I just drove to east Texas from Austin for 6 dollars worth of gas...I would say that is a real Prius.

I thought the C was the cutest, so I'm probably a bigger snob. I get excited whenever I see any Prius (or hybrid or electric car for that matter). I literally see them everywhere nowadays. At least one a day, and every now and again a C. Of course I never noticed them before I decided I wanted one.

My granny lives 100 miles away, both ways. She's almost 95, and I'm able to go see her at least once a month. Oftentimes, I go every weekend. I have for the last 3 weeks and will probably go tomorrow.

I'm not paying even half of what I used to for gas, and I only saw my granny on holidays then. That alone makes this car worth it's weight in gold.

I just bought a 2016 Prius C, 2 trim, after I test drove two 2016 Prius models. I didn't like the Prius as much as the Prius C. It is a personal choice in addition to the fact that the Prius C is the most fuel efficient Prius hybrid except for a plug-in. Bam!

id say the Prius C is the non snobby Prii and that's why they don't like it. Personally they just sounds like jerks in general. Most other owners that I have met/known acknowledged it as a Prius and from what I gather prefer some of its choices like a standard gear shifter, and a hatchback style. Let's face it they're probably jealous of the looks, easily the best looking of the bunch.
